The project concerns the urban regeneration and redesign of Anexartisias Street, Limassol’s main commercial axis, with the aim of transforming it into a contemporary, vibrant, and multifunctional public space. The proposal seeks to redefine the role of the street from a purely traffic corridor into a place of social interaction, commercial activity, and everyday urban experience.

The study focuses on improving accessibility, strengthening pedestrian movement and alternative mobility options, and creating high-quality areas for pause and social life. At the same time, emphasis is given on supporting the local economy, enhancing the visual identity of the area, and reconnecting the different parts of the city center through a coherent design and intervention.

Through an interdisciplinary and participatory approach, the project aims to shape an open and inclusive public environment that responds to the contemporary needs of the residents and visitors, promoting sustainability and urban resilience. Anexartisias Street is envisioned as a street for movement, pause, exploration, and interaction - a street that bridges Limassol’s multiple identities and brings public life back to the heart of the city.
